Hello !
First of all: Thank you!! Physics Constraint is extraordinary, it's just huge plus to finally have basic physical management, it saves so much time on animation!
I'm making a game where there are several styles of hair (front/back), eyes, etc., and the animations are full-screen cinematic scenes. So I started using physics constraint with my old setup of hair bones (9 shared bones who handle every type of hair, to gain time in animation, even if it take a little longer to rig mesh) and after some times I couldn't resist ... I've made special bones for all back hair that would be cool with it !
But then I was wondering, what is the impact of the physics constraint on the CPU? I saw on the forum that Harald said it wasn't more expensive than the other constraints.I couldn't tell the difference on the Unity editor play view (In term of FPS I mean, even with the 32 constraint (Not only physics though), and when I switch for the skin with the biggest physics constraint count, no change ... (32 + 19)
So, I had some questions, knowing that my players are PC only, from how many constraints should we start worrying about CPU usage ?
Because it still saves quite a bit of time on rather simple physics like "hair bounce" and it really looks very, very good, really until now I am just thrilled 1000%.
But then I have a pretty long list of Physics Constraints (linked to skins, by the way) (Also, being able to organize the constraints into folders would be nice), which made me wonder about the cost.
And in the same vein, I regularly see about Clips how they are expensive for the CPU (Always keeping in mind that my players are PCs and not phones), I have three clips (face, eyes left, eyes right), I haven't specifically felt a performance loss in my game... But I have a decent PC.
So I was wondering in terms of performance, is there some document somewhere that would answer these questions? I searched but couldn't find anything.
Anyway, a big thank you, I am delighted to have bought your software! Even more now that you have done physics.
(Sorry if my English is dull, I used translator :S )
