  • How do I reuse an attachment in multiple skins?

I have a character with different hairstyles. She has a mohawk and a faux hawk. These two styles reuse some of the same images. How do I share them between skins?

I've figured out when I create a skin placeholder, I can duplicate the attachment in all the skins. But then I have to delete them from every skin except for the two I want.

I tried taking an attachment and dragging it directly to the placeholder, but the attachment showed up at her root bone, instead of where it was from the exported PSD. I copied the transform from the original and pasted it into the attachment I dragged in. When I pasted, it looked right, but this is like 6 actions per attachment that's shared. Is there a more convenient way?

Hello! you can also just duplicate the mesh (or create a linked mesh) for the parts in common, take them out of the skin placeholder but in the same slot, change skin to the one you want to have a copy in, and move them back in the correct skin placeholder. Then, if the images to be used are recolors, you just need to change the image path in the image properties.

I'm a little confused by your response, because I'm not using a mesh. Is this a trick where I should create a mesh even though I don't need one?

Sorry, I just assumed! the same procedure applies, except you don't create a linked mesh, just duplicate the image you want to reuse and move it into the correct skin (:

I feel dumb for not being able to figure this out in Spine, but how do you duplicate an image? Do I do this in windows explorer?

UPDATE: Found it. It's only available in the skeleton and it's a button that looks like this:
