Hey guys. I love the new Stretch IK feature - it's going to be a huge time saver for me, and should improve game performance since I'll be able to stretch bones without needing a path.

I do have a question though: Is there a reason that you can stretch bones, but not compress them? In other words, they will scale up >1 based on the IK target's position, but if the IK is closer to them, they do not shrink to a scale of <1. I assume there is a reason for this, but I think that it wouldn't hurt to allow this, or perhaps add another checkbox that allows you to scale them down?

Thanks as always! Looking forward to the full 3.7 release!

Actually, I just discovered that you can accomplish this by setting the constrained bone's scale to <1. So if you set the scale to 0.1, it will shrink to that as a minimum, but otherwise behave normally. Is this intended perhaps? It seems a little hacky for me to do things this way, but it should work fine for me.

Is there any way that you could make it so that the constrained bone could scale on both X and Y instead of just on the X as it is currently? Ideally this would also be a checkbox, labeled something like "scale both axes"

It doesn't make sense to allow a 2 bone IK to scale smaller. It could make sense for 1 bone IK. Let's move discussion to this thread:
